Keep the Country Country

The Matoons, a lovely couple from Punalu'u, helped to start the "keep the country country" campaign on the island of Oahu back in the 70s. They are still going strong as community activists and voices of sustainable and smart growth in the rural regions of Oahu, and I had the privilege of meeting them, talking to them, and snapping some images of them in their garden and "front yard", the Kamehaha Highway Punalu'u Bridge construction project.....
